This recipe is a good way of introducing different savoury flavours to fussy eaters without overwhelming them. Plus, crispy fried chicken is crispy fried chicken!
What you’ll need:
- Chicken midwings 1kg
- 1cup plainflour
- 1/2 cup cornflour
- garlic powder
- paprika(optional)
- 1 tsp salt (depending on your taste )
- 1 tsp pepper (optional)
- scallions
Sauce: ‘
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- Garlic powder
LET’S COOK!
Make sure that the chicken is pat dry with paper towel. Add plain flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt and pepper and make sure you coat the chicken well. FRY .Double fry for extra crispiness.
2.Prepare the sauce. Mix the ingredients for the sauce. Taste as you go. If you want, you can add or put less honey, or soy sauce. Actually , it depends on how savoury you want it to be. Sesame oil is also optional . If you think that it is too overpowering, you can omit that part. People have different preferences and that is perfectly fine. Boil in medium heat until sauce thickens .
If you wish to be more adventurous with the flavour you can make it with Korean Chilli paste, honey citron tea and soy sauce , which can be bought in Asian groceries/Korean groceries.
ALTERNATIVE :
3.Mix the sauce and your crispy chicken.Garnish with scallions or sesame seeds. Enjoy!
